1. Tell us your top 3 flaws and shortcomings.

Hypercritical of myself, forever saying sorry, very bad at not telling people what their Christmas present is.

2. Who do you look up to the most:
– Professionally?
– Sexually?

I have a couple of “Teacher Heroes” who I was privileged to work with when I was a beginning teacher. They supported and encouraged me and modelled how to be an awesome teacher.

Sexually I can’t think of one person in particular. I usually admire women who don’t let the opinion of others shape who they are. I can think of a few, and I am glad they are in my life.

3. How do you like to be comforted when you’re sad or upset?
a. Give me a hug or acknowledge my situation and sit quietly with me.
b. Talk through the situation give me advice or say uplifting things.
c. Leave me alone, let me sulk and wallow in misery.
d. Work out, be active to distract myself and up the endorphin and dopamine.

I lean strongly towards a). Although as I explained in my last post i am learning that working out can be very therapeutic

4. Which parent do you identify with the most?

It pains me to say this but when I speak I often hear my mothers voice! I also look very much like her, or rather her sister (who she doesn’t like). I have spent a lot of my life working hard to make sure that I don’t ACT like her though.

As I age I am starting to reflect more on past trauma, much of which caused by my childhood and her attitude. I am realising that she is possibly a carbon copy of her own mother who I never really got to know. Sadly, she has not been able to realise what has happened. It takes a lot of work to break that mould. Some days I am more successful than others.

Bonus: If you had to choose one thing you were most passionate about, what would it be and why?

This is hard. It changes depending on my focus for the day. At the moment I am passionate about education and helping young people become well adjusted adults. In a few months when I am not as immersed in education it will change. Hopefully to writing and I produce a full length novel.
