Quite truthfully, they don't all work.  It still takes 2 to make it work. The epiphany moment for couples that do make this work, is that both sides need something very much for this to work. Prior to engaging in this type of relationship with my wife, I had been a fairly normal male thinking that housework was for women, along with the cooking, yada, yada, yada.
