I completely agree with this form of “chivalry.” I do think it is – however – good form to bring the key to the date in a sealed, and time stamped envelope, should she decide she requires it immediately.
The feeling associated with sliding the envelope across the table is beyond words. In fact, no words would likely be allowed.
