Which is refreshing and makes my day go much more smoothly. And then yesterday I was talking to a kid about something and the F word slipped out. not Francium (it was a chemistry class). Fuck At my last school which was the school where parents sent their ADHD, ADD, ASD, ODD, dyslexic, dysgraphic, anxious, school avoiding kids as a last ditch effort to have them actually finish high school the word Fuck found its way into a lot of sentences. Along with cunt, asshole, gay, and a lot of other offensive phrases. [...]

We have reached the end of week 2. I have learned about half the kid’s names. I have had an eventful practical session, remembered a few things about mainstream school that I had forgotten and learned a bunch about this particular school. Ginger and tumeric tea made with fresh roots is keeping my voice healthy. I started over and under the teacher clothes shots for a friend at the start of the year. I like the way the early morning light plays with my skin but I am still working out the angles. What do you think?

In the Land Down Under, summer is at its peak. Where I live, daytime temperatures are routinely in the 30’s (Celsius) and nighttime temperatures are often around 20 degrees. Sometime back in 2025 I made a random decision to apply for a job. Full time for a term. I haven’t really interacted with this school before, so everything about it is unknown. What I do know is that I am heading back to mainstream-type schooling after several years working in an alternative model. I will be dealing with younger students, a fuller timetable and many more demands on my time.
