This story about a planned church in the shape of an enormous high heeled shoe seems tailor made for a blog like this one. There’s even a video of it available (which I assume is a computer render). Assuming it’s not a hoax or elaborate publicity stunt (which seems likely), the ‘idea’ is to attract more women to church. I liked Rain DeGrey’s recent post entitled – The secret of the dick. The secret in question is that dicks are not binary. It’s not true that hard equals horny and ready for action, while soft equals disinterested and ready for sleep. I hope all my readers enjoyed the last evening of 2015 and didn’t wake up too hungover for the start of 2016. Champagne is the traditional way to greet midnight on New Years eve, and I always used to try and stash a bottle of good champagne away for that moment. I’m sure that when Tim Berners-Lee was inventing the world wide web, he wasn’t thinking it’d be used to exchange amusing articles on penis related injuries. Fortunately for us his idea took off, and we now get to enjoy articles like this on what people did their dicks in 2015. Its culled from a database kept on emergency room visits and proves that no matter how delicate and sensitive an appendage, there’s no limit to the kind of stupid stuff people will do with it. I don’t spend a lot of time looking at my blog visitor statistics. I used to check them religiously when I started blogging, but now I just check occasionally to make sure nothing weird is going on. I glanced at them today and was amused to spot the change in traffic over the holiday period. Over the 24th and 25th of December the visit rate dipped significantly. Presumably this was because people were busy with relatives, cooking big dinners and exchanging presents. Then on the 26th and 27th there was a big upswing, which was almost exactly the same size as the dip had been. The blogroll is finally back. Finding the relevant RSS feed link on all the different sites turned out to be surprisingly painful. Most follow a standard pattern, but there’s a few that require a lot of trial and error to discover. If you own a blog then please make it easy for everyone by putting a link to your RSS feed somewhere obvious. See my ‘Welcome!’ box on the right as an example.
